As part of the Second European Programme of Work 2026–2030 (EPW2), WHO/Europe has launched two special cross-cutting initiatives to accelerate progress on the Region’s most urgent health priorities. These initiatives translate EPW2’s vision into focused, high-impact action: ending violence against women and girls and transforming primary health care to deliver people-centred, equitable and resilient services. Together, they mobilize political commitment, partnerships and innovation to achieve lasting improvements in health and well-being across the European Region.
