Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly reshaping health systems, creating new opportunities and challenges for workforce education, management and planning. This webinar will examine how AI is influencing the skills required of health professionals, transforming workforce deployment and decision-making and shaping national and global health labour markets. Participants will explore key lessons from emerging practice, including both the benefits of AI-enabled innovation and the barriers that may limit its adoption, such as workforce readiness, regulation, ethics and equity concerns. The session will feature two in-depth case studies, highlighting real-world applications of AI, their impact on health workers and factors that have supported or hindered successful implementation.
Topics:
- AI opportunities and challenges: considerations from a global health workforce policy perspective.
- AI, medical education and health systems in East Africa.
- Experience and challenges of AI in the UK
- AI emerging evidence and scoping.
